Larissa began her dance training at age 13 at Halifax Ballet Theatre. There she studied exclusively under the tutelage of Artistic Director, Clare Bader, for three years before she was accepted on scholarship to The Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet in Philadelphia. Her summers were spent attending the National Ballet School, School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, and Miami City Ballet School among other prestigious intensive dance programs throughout the United States and Canada.
Upon graduation in 2000, Larissa moved to London, England to attend The London Studio Centre, and the following summer successfully auditioned for The National Ballet of Ireland. In 2002 she was promoted to soloist and principal roles in such ballets as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Les Sylphides, Dracula, and many Mixed Bill and Gala programs. Some of those roles included Kitri in Don Quixote, The Dying Swan, Isolde in Tristan and Isolde, Carrabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, Evangeline in The Song of Evangeline, and she has danced in the world premiers of Alice, The Tempest, and Lady of the Lake.
Larissa received excellent reviews in many publications including The Irish Times, Dance Europe and The Dancing Times. While in Ireland Larissa was asked to join the Ballet Ireland Educational Team teaching in annual summer schools and year round youth/dance outreach programs. Larissa has been fortunate to have been coached and taught by world renowned dancers and choreographers including Dame Alicia Markova, Evelyn Heart, Rex Harrington, Suzanne Farrell, Maria Tallchief, Kyra Nichols, Kevin Mackenzie, David Howard, Edward Vilella, Dame Margaret Barbriari, Cathy Marston, Christopher Hampson, and Wayne Sleep.
Larissa has also danced professionally with The Pennsylvania Ballet, Independent Ballet Wales, and Images of Dance London, and as a freelance dancer.
